AR Eye, developed by Prevent Blindness®, offers an intriguing exploration of ocular health and visual impairment through augmented reality technology. The application provides users with a simulated experience of how various eye diseases, including glaucoma and four others, can impact vision.

Upon launching the app, users can aim their device at an image to view it from the perspective of someone affected by visual challenges or use the camera to scan flat surfaces such as floors or tables, facilitating a virtual walkthrough of the human eye.

AR Eye features three distinct modes: an animation mode that elucidates the functioning of human vision, an interactive mode allowing users to learn about the anatomical components of the eye by selecting different parts, and an impaired vision simulator that demonstrates the visual effects associated with five different ocular diseases. This tool serves as an informative resource for increased awareness and understanding of eye health issues.
